This work was created during a two week artist residency at Atelier St Louis.

Trenches of varying depths were dug into the ground and then filled with compressed soil collected from the surrounding landscape. The first trench to the right of the field is approximately a foot deep, the second slightly shallower, the third shallower still, and so on until the final line which is stenciled over the grass itself. Initially the lines appear regular and uniform in keeping with the neatly ploughed fields in the vicinity and across the hills. Over time however the elements will disrupt and dislodge the soil and the lines will degrade and erode at different rates. This project will be documented by artist Jonathan Moss who runs the residency programme and this page will be updated over the coming months.

Rona kept a blog during her residency which can be viewed at the AN Magazine website
